The EUDXF is thrilled to announce their support to the RI1FJZ DXpedition to Franz Josef Land which started earlier this week.
The RI1FJZ DXpedition to Franz Josef Land is an ambitious amateur radio expedition to Alexandra Land in the Russian Arctic. The team plans to activate this rare and challenging DXCC entity, giving radio amateurs around the world the opportunity to add Franz Josef Land to their logs.
The expedition is led by Vasily, RA1ZZ, and Vladimir, R9LR, with additional operators and team members supporting the project. Alexander, R9LM, was originally expected to participate but was replaced by Evgeny, UA6EX.
The team plans to operate across the HF bands from 160 to 10 metres, using CW, SSB and digital modes, including FT8. Additional activities are planned on 144 and 432 MHz, with a focus on EME and satellite communications, including QO-100.
Several stations will operate simultaneously, supported by dedicated antennas and power amplifiers. The team hopes to maintain continuous activity throughout the expedition, subject to local conditions and propagation.
With its remote Arctic location, extensive operating plans and a particular focus on digital modes, RI1FJZ is expected to attract considerable interest from the worldwide DX community.
