40EUDXF Activity Month Award

Official Rules

The 40EUDXF Activity Month Award celebrates the 40th edition of the European DX Foundation (EUDXF) Activity Month in November 2026. This award encourages amateur radio operators worldwide to contact participating stations and promotes activity across different amateur radio bands and operating modes.

Activity Period

The award is valid for QSOs made from 1 November 2026 through 30 November 2026, inclusive.

Only valid two-way contacts made during this period are eligible.

Participating Stations

Two categories of stations participate in the award.

B. Participating EUDXF Member Stations

EUDXF members are invited to participate voluntarily and activate their stations during the Activity Month.
Participating members must register in advance, and their callsigns must be included in the official list published on the EUDXF website.

EUDXF mmbers are encouraged to use a special identification, such as /40EUDXF, where permitted by their national licensing regulations. Using such a suffix is not mandatory.
Each registered EUDXF member station is worth 1 point per valid band/mode combination.

Scoring System

The award rewards both the number of stations contacted and activity across different bands and operating modes.

  • Each official 40EUDXF special event station earns 3 points per valid band/mode combination.
  • Each registered EUDXF member station earns 1 point per valid band/mode combination.
  • Each station/band/mode combination may be counted only once.
  • Repeated QSOs with the same station on the same band and in the same mode do not earn additional points.
  • QSOs with the same station on different bands or in different modes earn additional points for each new combination.
  • Only valid two-way QSOs made during the activity period count towards the award.

Band and Mode Definitions

The following mode groups apply:

  • CW: Contacts made using Morse code.
  • SSB: Contacts made using single sideband voice.
  • DIGI: Contacts made using digital modes, including FT8, FT4, RTTY and other digital modes.

Different digital modes are grouped together as DIGI. For example, working the same station on 20 m FT8 and subsequently on 20 m FT4 counts as one band/mode combination.
Working that station on 20 m CW, 20 m SSB and 20 m DIGI counts as three separate combinations.
The same principle applies across all eligible amateur radio bands.

Award Levels and Qualification Requirements

Four award levels are available. Applicants must achieve the required score and contact the minimum number of different official 40EUDXF special event stations shown below.

Award levelMinimum scoreMinimum official stations
Bronze30 points5
Silver60 points8
Gold100 points11
Platinum150 points13
  • The score is calculated by adding the points earned from all eligible station/band/mode combinations.
  • Contacts with registered EUDXF member stations contribute to the total score but do not count towards the minimum number of official special event stations required.
  • Only the highest award level for which an applicant qualifies will be issued.

Scoring Examples

Example A: Official special event stations

An operator works five different official special event stations on two bands, using SSB on both bands.

  • 5 official stations × 2 band/mode combinations × 3 points = 30 points
  • Official stations contacted: 5
  • Result: Bronze Award qualification, provided all contacts are valid.

Example B: A combination of official stations and EUDXF members

An operator makes the following contacts:

8 official stations, each on 2 different combinations = 8 × 2 × 3 = 48 points
12 combinations with registered member stations = 12 × 1 = 12 points
The operator has contacted eight different official special event stations and achieved 60 points, qualifying for the Silver Award.

Example C: Platinum Award

An operator earns 150 points or more and contacts at least 13 different official special event stations.
The operator qualifies for the Platinum Award, provided all contacts comply with these rules.
