Sigi DL7DF and friends will on an anniversary DXpedition to Saint Pierre and Miquelon between October 2nd and 14th, 2019. TO80SP is the special callsign to celebrate Sigi’s his 80th birtday.
The team will be working on all bands and modes excluding 60m which is not possible in France and his overseas territories. As long propagation permits CW + SSB will be the main modes, but also FT8 is on the agenda. The team will use 3 stations: 2xIC7300 1xK2 and 3xLinears with Spiderbeam, DeltaLoop and VDA Antennnas. Beverages for the direction EU and JA on the lowbands.

The EUDXF is happy to announce they will support the new adventure by the Perseverance DX Group to South Orkney Island scheduled for February – March 2020. The Clublog Most Wanted ranking for VP8O South Orkney based on Europe is #16 mixed mode.
The team will be QRV from Signy Island on 10-160 meters, SSB, CW, RTTY and FT8. Located at 60 degrees south / 45 degrees west, we expect temperatures to hover around freezing most of the time, with constantly changing conditions of wind, rain, snow and occasional sunshine.
A team of experienced DX and Contest operators will operate from Signy Island for up to 15 days. The team includes: Dave K3EL, Les W2LK, Steve W1SRD, Ricardo PY2PT, Gene K5GS, Arliss W7XU, Heye DJ9RR, Laci HA0NAR, Mike WA6O, Vadym UT6UD, Walt N6XG and Rob N7QT. The team will sail from Punta Arenas, Chile aboard RV Braveheart. Seven operating positions are planned for 160-10 meters, SSB/CW/Digital.
The Perseverance DX Group was also responsible for the recent very succesfull DXpedition VP6D DXpedition to Ducie Island.
HAM RADIO has been traditionally a meeting point for many interested in
DXing from all over the world. This is true for those activating rare entities
or islands as well as the DXers chasing them. Many of these DXers are members
of national or international clubs and foundations, whose main goal is to
financially support DXpeditions. Quite a few of these clubs and foundations
have attended HAM RADIO for years.
Amateur Radio on Tour – the motto of
this year’s HAM RADIO 2019 – appeals directly to the DXers. Some groups
coincidently decided to set up their stands in one large area instead of being
dispersed all over the hall. This is how DX-Plaza was born.
